The Plant
In 2017, Ansley’s partner, urban design consultant Travis Crabtree, began a design and development project to adapt an abandoned pipe plant in Jackson, Mississippi into a business incubator and co-working space with an onsite urban farm, market, and restaurant. After its run as “Ecoshed,” an effort was made to better serve the demand for rentable space in the area as the building function and business concept needed to evolve. In 2023, the couple released the new brand identity as The Plant Venue — an industrial warehouse transformed into an event space featuring modern interiors and natural elements. Its design ethos springs from biophilic design inspiring both the interior plantscapes and exterior landscapes.
Biophilic design incorporates elements that connect people to nature and ultimately creates an environment that not only enhances the space visually, but also promotes mental and emotional wellbeing.
The Plant Design & Development
Ansley has spent the past two years dedicated to crafting unique interiors and establishing the brand identity for The Plant Venue. Moving forward, her role as Venue Director includes client communications, booking management, strategic planning, team leadership, and admin responsibilities. Ansley aims to create a consistent experience for all event hosts and guests who browse the website and visit the campus.
