The Fondren Warehouse District is an industrial park home to local legacy businesses that date as far back as the 1930’s. The Plant Venue building was once a pipe plant built in the 1960’s next to the railroad that defines the district border. Ansley and her partner Travis have taken initiative to promote the formerly un-marketed area by first giving it a brand identity and developing social media platforms to promote these unique businesses hidden in an otherwise uninviting industrial area.
Project Goals & Phases
After establishing the brand identity and online presence for the district, next steps for project development include implementation of signage and way-finding, beautification installations and creative placemaking efforts, and ultimately making the area feel more like a destination that the general public can be inspired by.

District Development
Ansley has led project efforts by creating the initial brand identity, making connections with local business owners, capturing professional photography and video content at multiple businesses within the district, and started the social media account to get the local population more familiar with and excited about the neighborhood.
Moving forward, Ansley aims to continue establishing interest and investment in the FWD with compelling visuals and community engagement efforts that lead to bigger opportunities for the area. Her passion for these local hidden gems and priority of guest experience when visiting The Plant fuels her volunteer efforts towards the project.
